Spent a day in the Wolf Creek bowl area - and as we walked around, we consistently heard very loud, collapsing that actually seemed to shoot up the slope with energy. We stopped and dug a pit. Our Isolated column failed as soon as it was isolated - before we touched it. We got an ECT-3. After regaining the ridge on our way out, we triggered a crack that propagated 100-150 ft above/across the entrance to a cross-loaded NE facing gully. If that gully had been just a little steeper, it might have gone. Spooky!
