What snow?

Where it wasn't icy / rain-crust / melt-freeze crust, the snow is faceted underneath a crust. My route ranged from 6800'-8400'. At 8400' on a polar aspect, my deepest snow was 15cms (6").

I went to gather some info/photos on the current state of the snowpack, including where the snow is now in anticipation of future avalanche problems when we do get snow.

Sundance working hard. In the background, from left to right: Shingle Mill Peak, Freedom Peak, Provo East, Provo Peak, Cascade Mountain:

The east aspect of Bob's. Naked:

One of our main routes. The gully between Bob's and Sue's, with the south ridge and the top of UFO Bowl #1 in the background:

UFO Bowls: (it may be tempting to ski here first, but this snow is a future weak layer, with potentially an existing weak layer and a slab at the top of UFO #1 (top left side of photo, known repeater many seasons))

UFO Bowls:

The NE aspect of Sue's:

AF Twins and ridgeline running west:

Mud at 7800': (it is OK to cry a little)

Stairway to Heaven for the climbers...not too heavenly either:
