Comments

Was pleasantly surprised at the quality of skiing and travel we found today. Although it's a mixed bag of ice crusts, wind board, wind-buff, and pretty much anything else you can come up with, travel was decent overall.

Coverage is not just a mixed bag on southerly slopes, but some have lost nearly their entire snowpack, even at 10,000' as seen above.

Overall and in general, on the north half of the compass above 9,000', you will find a slab sitting atop weak, faceted snow. Today, ECT testing produced results in the moderate sensitivity range (ECTP13, ECTP14) at the interface of the slab and weak layer around 35 cm's. Although we are seeing propagation in our snowpits, red flags are not accompanying our current snowpack set-up right now, nor are there any recent avalanches. In general, the snowpack seems relaxed for the time being.
