Traveling in the Guardsman Pass area and PC Ridgeline to get a sense of early-season coverage ahead of the weekend storm. Light snowfall, moderate visibility, light winds, and temps near 20°F. New snow was about 1–2”. Total snow depth in sheltered pockets was roughly 6–12”, with 2–3” on the road. Dug a quick hand pit on a north-facing slope around 9000 ft on ~30° terrain. Found about 1-2” of new low-density snow over roughly 5–6” of older snow(11/30) sitting on a (~1”) layer of facets at the ground. Coverage remains thin overall, but there were a few low-angle, sheltered, polar aspects holding enough snow for some early-season turns.
