Comments
Provo was deep, with easily 2 to 4 feet of snow. I only made it to 8,500', but I bet wind drifts were easily 4 to 8 feet deep.

The bike would barely move with how deep and heavy the snow was. I got stuck in some bottomless faceted snow and it took over an hour to dig myself out.

The two dirt layers are the perfect markers in the Provo snowpack. Both of these layers have faceted snow around them. The bottom dirt layer is by far the worst. This area has been weak and faceted all season. I imagine the alpine would be a bit different. But, you need to hike from 8,500' to 9,500' first.
There is no chance I would get under or on any avalanche terrain in the Provo zone. Wet snow will be a big issue tomorrow, and I would expect the new snow to run far with daytime heating.
