Snow Characteristics Comments
Some nice new snow! We found 12-16" of medium-density new snow sitting atop a variety of MF crusts formed during the past heat wave. ECTX as the new snow is not really slabby. I imagine that wind affected snow may be a bit more touchy along exposed ridgelines. We observed some localized cracking in the new snow but found that it bonded pretty well with the old snow. There is weak snow from 3/3-3/4 on top of the crust, but it was unreactive today.

Heavy Snowfall
Red Flags Comments
Biggest red flag was heavy snowfall. Winds were well-behaved. I would expect new snow instabilities to settle out quickly.
Comments
Overall, these are some of the best snowmobiling conditions of the season!
1. Localized cracking.
2. The lines in the pit are on top of and below the prominent MF crust.
3. About 14-16" of new snow sitting atop the MF crust.
