The heavy snows from the weekend had made for greatly improved snow conditions. I didn't see any evidence of sluffing during my time on Butler.

The new snow has fallen on a ice crusted mess caused by the ridiculous heat from last week.
Comments
I hiked intermittently with spikes and snowshoed Butler Fork trail Monday late PM. I had considered Lake Blanche but wanted to give it a few days to settle out.
The snow conditions ranged from creamy powder to intermittently crusted further up trail towards the section that is the summer trail. I didn't go ip this much as it's not only sketch but was was very crusted as well. The new snow was great to snowshoe on. Another storm cycle will be welcome but definitely could further complicate an already challenging snowpack structure.
I spoke with a couple of skier groups one of which had skied Circle Awl noting this was "the best skiing of the season" for him.
