Toured up just below twin lakes pass to see what warming and wind has done. Saw a recent avalanche looked like it started at about 10k and was a cornice break (couldn't tell if natural or intentional) and ran to just above the lookers right skin track ~9.5k and was ~20ft wide at its widest point. There also appeared to be two chunks of the cornice in the slide which is why I thought it was a cornice break. Pic 1
Dug a pit at 9,720ft on a NNE face below twin lakes pass. Snow was 200cm deep and where I was standing was supportable but if I took a few steps in either direction would sink in above my knee. Snow was 1F until 190cm then became 4F for a few cm (pic 2). When I did an ECT the test propagated on this layer - ECTP12 at 190cm (pic 3-4).
