Problem #1 Comments
I went to Eyrie peak looking for protected non-wind affected snow on the NW slopes but was disappointed to find wind crust everywhere except the most protected slopes down lower. The East wind ripped the cornice off the top of Bridge Canyon and set the slab pieces on the ridge, have not seen that before. In the protected north areas from 6500-5500ft. there were easily produced dry loose sluffs of faceted snow on the old melt freeze crust. This could be a problem if it ever snows again.
