Weather Comments
We started the day in a windy and snowy storm that dissipated after 1-2 hours. More bark than bite as we ended up with an inch of snow and more windboard. Partly cloudy with some blue sky by 4 pm.
Though it was nice not to have single-digit temperatures, we still felt the cold, especially in exposed terrain.

Snow Characteristics Comments
The winds have wreaked havoc on all aspects and elevations. The snow is very supportable, but you can feel all the old tracks on both sled and skis. With flat light most of the day, it was hard to tell what was what. One turn soft, next turn thick breakable crust. We found soft snow in VERY sheltered terrain on low-angle slopes facing north at upper and mid elevations.

Problem #1 Comments
One report of snowboarder-triggered small wind slab avalanche today, Caught and carried but no injuries or burial. Good reminder that the wind is in charge and any loaded steep slope is suspect.
Comments
Overall, the snow conditions are pretty lousy for skiing. Snowmobiling was ok - supportable but bumpy. There are areas of soft snow, but you have to hunt for them. Thick wind crusts, both supportable and unsupportable, cover most terrain. We found a right-side up snowpack 160 cm deep (profile below - ECTX) mid-slope on a very sheltered N-facing slope.
