Went to see upper days this morning with hopes of getting out into the drainage. Flagstaff was frigid and generally painful. I knew two dogs had slid this year along with the steeper portion of upper days. No tracks in two dogs and looked ready to lure someone in. I rode one lap in the trees skiers left then reascended and exited out the Emma's. I measured ~250 cm depth around 9,800'. No skinner was in across up to main days and I thought that was a good sign to step back a little bit. The snowpack is deep in upper LCC but I'm still being cautious. Looking into Cardiff Fork I could see a small slide near mid ivory up high off the rocky slabs.
Right now I think it's about avoiding steep rocky terrain and thin areas especially as you get closer to BCC.
Forecaster Notes: the photo of the avalanche in High Ivory was from last week, and many of the avalanches from last week's avalanche cycle have not yet been filled in. Thanks to Menk for the notes on the Two Dogs avalanche from earlier this season as repeater slide paths are places to avoid as they will be shallower and more likely to have established dry facets near the ground.
