Comments
Travelling around Daly (Empire) Canyon, a popular dog walking area near Main Street Park City. Generally there is still little snow on most aspects in this area, however on the Northerly aspects above 7500' you don't have to travel far from the trail to experience cracking and collapsing and there is evidence of fairly recent natural avalanches. What this tells me is that this elevation band is now prone to avalanches especially as our snow pack grows in coming storms. The rain on 12/28 definitely added a crust, now about 15cm down, but it is buried by cold snow and is beginning to facet/deteriorate.
