Comments
Today I travelled from 7200-9600'. Mostly clear skies, no wind. Cold start at the trailhead, but quickly realized the lower elevations only had a superficial refreeze. Many types of snow surfaces, but shaded aspects still hold cold dry powder. Lower and sunny aspects had little old snow on them, so not much of a hazard, Except the low tide. Higher elevations continue to decompose, and have poor structure. However there's not much of a load on the buried facets. Only minor collapsing in certain locations.
Snow quality still remains good in sheltered locations.
Price of admission and exit is heading toward type 2 fun.
