Very shallow conditions, with 20 to 40 cm of loose, sugary snow on the rocks on upper elevation slopes (>8500')

There's still not anywhere near enough snow for safe snowplay, but people are getting out in the Tony Grove Lake area. It looks like pretty good hiking conditions on the trails in the area, and the ice on the lake is starting to thicken near the shore, even though there's still open water on the north side.
