Still really good riding below that elevation but the top 4-5" started getting a little damp.

Conditions change fast in the spring. There had been some soft slab avalanches that had happened earlier this week with the snowfall and wind. Today, the snow was glued in place (aka stable).
The only way to get into trouble would be going to the highest elevations where winds had moved some snow.
