Comments
Spent the last 2 days traveling from 6k-9000', in the same zone but different aspects.
Both days had clouds in the AM, with partial clearing throughout the day. Winds have been light over the past few days, but evidence still remains from the previous wind events.
There is a variety of snow surfaces out there, but mostly shallow powder, with some damp snow in this location.
i found the dirt layer on the surface, and also buried up to 12" deep. Graupel and new snow sit on top of this layer in all the locations I dug around in. It's pretty well persevered. I don't think it will be a problem, but cool to see it just sitting on the dirt layer. Isolated wind slabs exists, but seem to be losing strength. New snow continues to settle out with good travel and riding conditions, however the trace amount that did fall today was making the exit sticky and slow.
