We were out in the Cutlter Ridge area today with one of our goals being to get more information on the V-Day facet layer. We were hoping to make it a little higher but the winds and heavy precip deterred us and we decided to find a lower SE aspect. No results from the pit test, but did find the layer in question and found the faceted layer beneath the crust.
The day started with calm winds and S2 precip.
As soon as we got to the LZ (6700') we were immediately met with light Southerly winds and consistent strong-moderate gusts
Snow stopped for 30 minutes and then picked back up, S1-S2 the whole time we were out in the field (10:00-14:00). Looks like we got the heavy end of the predicted snowfall, yay!
