Comments
Our group went out for a day tour from Gold Basin Yurt. We found predictable sun crusts on the solar aspects with surprisingly good, cold, powder on the northern aspects. We dug a pit (10,100 ft. - NW - 34 degree slope) on our way up Corkscrew Glades to check out the snow pack. The snow depth at our site was 135 cm and we were able to find the fist hard depth hoar at the base of the snowpack. We performed an ECT test with no results. As we were filling in the pit we had a skier jump on the pit and they were able to get it to break at the ground after a few attempts. Good skiing was had on a beautiful, sunny, windless day in the La Sals.
