Winds were blowing from the southwest on ridgetops and calm at lower elevations. Clear skies.

Snow depths ranged from 4"-6" as you increased in elevation. New snow mostly sitting on a supportable melt freeze crust.

Snowpits showed healing facets near the ground (see below). Northerly facing meadows at 8,000' still had very weak snow on the ground and when I stepped out of my skis I sunk straight to the ground.
