Comments
Despite the temptation to forget about them, the facets remain. In a snowpit dug to the ground in an area of relative shelter with representative HS, poor structure can be observed. Attached is a photo of an angular grain from the 12-16cm layer. While the snowpack has begun its journey, it has been just over one week since coming unglued. Grains under snow from 20240104 and beyond (around 80cm in most places) are still weak.
Also, NE winds had affected the snow between this morning and yesterday.
