Snow Characteristics Comments
Nice powder, but perhaps too deep and somewhat slow in <30° terrain, which was not quite steep enough for ideal powder skiing. It was probably pretty great riding, but we left our sleds in town due to slippery road conditions.

Red Flags Comments
A full bag of Red Flags, with several audible collapses (whumpfs) and shooting cracks. We noted a few small natural soft slab avalanches at low elevations on our way down Logan Canyon.

Persistent Weak Layer
Trend
Increasing Danger
Problem #1 Comments
The danger of avalanches failing on a widespread weak layer consisting of sugary
faceted snow
and/or
surface hoar
will continue to increase and become more widespread as heavy snow and drifting overload slopes steeper than 30° at all elevations...
