Snow Characteristics Comments
The surprising thing today was how wet the snow was on south aspects. Seems odd for snow to be wet on the winter solstice.

Comments
There's still plenty of weak snow to be found in the Uintas snowpack but the warm weather has helped. It's not nearly as weak as I expected it to be earlier this month.
Photo 1 - sparkling surface hoar at 9800 ft
Photo 2 - 60 cm snowpack (2 ft) with arrows showing the weak, faceted snow. Near the surface and near the ground.
Video - Unofficial snowpack test, Mark runs the track just above the pit wall and nothing fractures which lines up with LOW danger and a lack of any signs of instability
