This morning (20231221), winds were almost completely still on top of Moffit. Slightly increasing wind and sky cover after noon.

Today brought the Uintas back to their regularly scheduled high pressure programming. Winds were quite calm, skies were sunny, low elevation and solar terrain took heat.
New surface hoar has formed. A photo (attached) from the top of Moffit shows the surface hoar on top of wind textured snow, indicating the order of events, and the lack of recent winds.
A snowpit from a shady area of relative shelter revealed an amazing HS of 117. Deep snowpack, relative to other parts of the range, exceptionally strong snow, and the beginnings of rounding depth hoar were observed.
The rest of Upper Weber Canyon (pictured) remains good from far...
