Problem #1 Comments
Two crusts between 30cms and 40cms, measuring 1-2cms thick, separate the newer snow from the facets. Rounding facets 30cm to ground. About 1-1.5mm and linking together. No visible avalanche activity from Mineral Fork/Mill B south fork ridgeline, although east facers were rather shady by then. (See photo 4 for the ground facets)

Problem #2 Comments
Although I had ECTX in two pits, I was able to separate last weekends storm snow from the old interface with a shovel from the backside of the pit. This seemed like the most suspect layer in the pit; 60cms from the ground. Textured and fuzzy looking.
