Avalanche Problem #1
Problem
Wind Drifted Snow
Problem #1 Comments
Windloading has occured on high altitude W through N aspects in Cardiff Fork. A substantial 10" windslab was present in the top of Holy Toldeo.
An ECT was dug and performed at approximately 10500ft (top of the chute) and produced a result of ECTN16 on the windslab interface. Upon initial inspection of the snowpack, i was sure that the slab was going to carry energy and propagate as the density change was significant. Something to keep an eye on as the northen aspects become more approachable.
Test performed at 12/11/23 11:30am on WNW aspect with slope angle of 42 degrees
