Red Flags
Heavy Snowfall
Wind Loading
Cracking
Collapsing
Poor Snowpack Structure
Red Flags Comments
Had cracking and collapsing near ridgeline in wind drifted snow 6-18” deep. Sitting on the stout melt freeze crust that has small grain facets on its top and bottom sides. Once undercut, the wind slabs would move, but generally seemed low energy for now. No cracking or collapsing from the deeper PWL under crust or at ground.
