Comments
The north slope of the Uintas picked up several inches of snow from the recent storm a few days ago. I was finding anywhere from 6-10" depending on where you looked around. The conditions are still quite thin and rocky with lots of hazards to watch out for. I was able to put a pair of skis on and walk around. I would be very hesitant to take a sled out right now unless you knew where all the rocks and stumps are hidden.
The snow pack right now is thin and weak with the recent snow sitting on sugary faceted snow that has developed the last two months. There is not much of a slab out there, but I was able to get a few localized and subtle collapses as I was walking around. Not a great snow pack set up currently with slightly denser snow on top of some weak sugary early season faceted snow.
