Problem #1 Comments
Took a pre dawn tour up lone peak via the Hamongogs. Got a better look at the slide reported 4/9. Photos don't capture it well, but we estimate width at about 300 feet (cross-slope). 1-4 feet deep. Ran full track and appears to have pushed debris high up in the gullies on either side of the moraine in heaven's halfpipe, stripping branches from some of the trees.
For whatever it's worth, we observed a modest refreeze at about 6000 ft, which was much better by 7-8k ft with a firm refreeze about 4 inches deep by the second hamongog. Snow depth at 7k was 180-200cm.
Forecaster Comments- Thank you for going to take a look at this slide. The original avalanche observation is HERE.
