Comments
We dug a snow pit and isolated a block of snow, about 90 x 150 x 30cm deep, and didn't observe anything more than compaction w the 30 taps to the shovel (wrist, elbow, shoulder). No propogation. Uniform snowpack, no spooky facets. A couple of slick layers when we finally pryed it w a shovel. For us it gave us a lot of confidence to ride the Nw/N face. On the ski at 1pm the crust had mostly softened up. We had a fun ski. I think the slope is good to go if it doesn't get to wet and warm.
