Comments
With the heavy snowfall, low visibility, and Considerable avalanche danger; we hit one of our favorite areas for these conditions, and it did not disappoint. This morning was an absolutely beautiful day in the mountains and the snow was deep and faceshots were a plenty (on sleds and on boards). It was nuking for several hours and completely covered our first tracks with 6-8 inches of fresh light snow in a matter of hours.
We stayed on 30 degree, north through east facing slopes above 7500 feet all day. We had several dry sluffs that ran less than 100 feet on steeper rollovers. These sluffs involved the new snow from today only. We found a little bit of a sun crust on any slopes facing the southern half of the compass. The crust was getting covered up pretty quick with all the new snow but it could still be felt when turning on those slopes. We did not experience any collapsing or other signs of instability throughout the day. We were so busy making turns that we didn't take a single picture, sorry about that.
