Problem #1 Comments
This morning we observed sustained strong winds out of the NW on exposed terrain above 8,000' with lots of snow being transported. While setting the skinner up to the top of Low East-Facing we observed minimal cracking (a few <1' long cracks by our skis) until we got to the main ridge. On the east-facing side of the ridge around 9,000' there were many small, touchy cornices and wind drifts that cracked under our skis. One pocket cracked about 20' wide and 1' deep, and slid a few feet down slope.

Problem #2 Comments
Where we were we didn't observe any signs of instability in non-wind effected new snow. There wasn't much steep terrain around us, so we didn't get a sense for how likely the new snow is to produce loose, dry avalanches.
