Snow Characteristics Comments
The new snow was coming in dense and damp. The warm temps combined with the high density of the new snow seems to have saturated the under lying 20cm of snow which appear to be damp rounding faceted grains on N aspects
Not surprising given our low elevation, but a good indicator that in low elevation wind sheltered terrain we may not need to worry about preserved FCsf underneath new snow.

Comments
Spent a few hours in the field this afternoon with our AIARE 2 course. We were surprised by how seeming slow the storm was to arrive, but by the time we were puling out of the parking lot @1630 Temps had dropped significantly, winds had picked up, and PI increased to heavy.
