Snow Characteristics Comments
Generally 5-star powder. Snow from the prior week had settled considerably with ~1' settlement cones around some trees. The most recent snow, probably from early this week was still in good shape and was showed limited faceting. In some places, this new snow covered old wind affected snow. Tree bombing made snow in the trees more variable.

Red Flags Comments
The area we travelled did not exhibit obvious wind loading although I'm sure this could be found in more wind exposed areas.

Wow - what a nice solid snowpack! The snow is deep enough that it makes travel even through normally brushy areas pleasant.

Comments
Big storms from this month have created a nice strong snowpack and facets are >1.5 meters deep. We dug in this location almost exactly 1 year ago and we now have about 45cm more or about 30% more snow. Hopefully it keeps up.
