Weather Comments
HOT. Left car at 11am and headed up Beaver Creek Canyon to skin up the Mezzanine. Expected some warming but hoped to avoid direct sun on W facing terrain. Once we started climbing it became obvious that wasn't going to be the case. Greenhousing warmed the snow up to 8900' (our top). The snow felt like late-March hot powder. We descended to Beaver Creek and tried to climb a more N facing slope but by then the melt was going off. It was literally raining in the trees bw 7200-8000' with tree bombs dropping from everywhere. Decided to call it day. Interestingly enough, the snow on the way out Beaver Creek was soft and dry.
