I wasn't planning on writing a report today, however, on my way out of Weber Canyon I discovered this nasty collapse at 10k that failed 220 cms to the ground and moved about 6 inches down slope before arresting. The terrain is heavily treed and barely wide enough to ski but steep. I often put my skin track in here because it’s one of the few relatively safe places to ascend the ridgeline and have done numerous times this season. This is clear evidence that all the new snow we have just received was enough to overload the snowpack and naturally trigger failures below our PWL all the way to the ground.
