Persistent Weak Layer
Problem #1 Comments
Today we dug on a NE slope at 9517', to observe the November facet layer. The layer was covered with nearly 2m of snow. Due to a large insulating load above, the facets in this location were rounding significantly and about 1-2mm in size. After probing around for most of our tour, HS varied from 160cm-320cm.
