Snow Characteristics Comments
The snow surface was generally mildly heavy fresh snow with 5-6" around 6800' and around 7800'.
The takeaway about snow is that the snowpack was wet below the new snow to the ground. There was a rain crust under the new snow but all layers that we observed underneith where damp.

Poor Snowpack Structure
Red Flags Comments
We noted multiple collapses and cracking on north facing slopes around 6800' and more collapsing at 7800' on an east facing slope. The snowpack being wet all the way through was a concern for us as well.
Comments
Photo of shooting crack.
