Avalanche Problem #1
Problem
Wind Drifted Snow
Problem #1 Comments
The upper reaches of Horsehead were wind scoured with heavy wind deposits on leeward sides. Also, not much snow up there. 18 to 24 inches of pure facets. I stayed away from all the drainages. Rode mostly the apron. I got no propagation on any tests. No punchy layer, whomping, or collapsing. Skied East facing aspects at 10000'.
Comments
The coverage is shallow. The Abajo's have large areas of sharp rock. Be careful where your travel up high.
