Problem #1 Comments
Dug a pit in a patch of aspens about 100 ft shy of the park city ridgeline. Found the new snow to be right side up with 3-4 ft of base depth. Noted a crust from the past storm/heating cycle about 10 inches from the ground.

Wind Drifted Snow

Same
Problem #2 Comments
Winds gusting up to 30mph from the W/NW kept us from gaining the park city ridgeline. Would imagine significant wind loading taking place on easterly & southerly aspects.
Comments
Traveled from Solitude Entry 2 to "Minnesota" of the USA bowl, snowfall rate was varied between squalls of light powder and graupel. No avalanche activity was observed, we skied slope angles of 25 degrees and the skiing was good.
