While heading up the front person in our group popped a little 1" deep wind slab on a SE slope just lookers left of the pass. Swirling snow and a moderate wind was noted blowing up Cardiff fork and over the ridge. We had expected wind slabs on northern aspects but it's good to remember that local variation exists as well.
