Problem #1 Comments
About 17 cm of low density snow fell 11/2/22. No evidence of significant wind transport in this location. New snow was starting to settle a bit and probably becoming a bit more slabby, but is overall very soft. Some clean shears were noted during shovel tilt tests as well as cutting switch backs on the new/old snow interface.

Comments
Wanted to see how the new snow was bonding and what might be in store for the stormy days ahead. While breaking trail, some spots felt a little punchy, with slightly weaker snow below the very soft storm "slab".
Hs was quite variable, as south facing aspects were very thin or almost dry. In contrast, this north facing aspect was very cold and sheltered, and seemed to have a somewhat weak bond between the new and old snow. Lots of ski tracks on the slope, and no signs of instability. Seems like the 11/2 dust layer will be a good marker bed and might have some buried near surface facets or otherwise weak snow just below it.
