Snowpit: NNE. 10k. 38 degrees. HS 175. Damp facets between 70 - 100 cm. MWFL at 95-100 cm. CT 11 Sudden Planar x 2 on this layer. And ECTP15. Sudden Planar.
This location had likely NOT been skied. And it was well-protected from winds. Adjacent chutes were skied w/o incident. Ski Pen on these runs was only 15 cm. A temperature crust was supportable below the new snow from 3/29. I think this crust prevented us from triggering a slab avalanche on the MWFL.
Nonetheless this pit indicated the MWFL is present, damp enough to make a snowball, and reactive. It may be talking to us more before this spring is over
