Problem #1 Comments
By 2pm the snow surface was no longer supportaable and it seemed as thought it would be easy to get wet snow moving on a steep enough slope.
Comments
There was surprisingly little snow up on the exposed ridges (photo 1). The strong winds have definitely had their way with the snow blowing upper terrain clear and creating sastrugi in other places.
We were very curious if the PWL that is plaguing most of the rest of the state could be found. We were unable to find it on NW though N through E aspects. On all of these aspects we had a hard wind crust (pencil hardness) on top of a 4F layer of rounded grain snow (photo 2)
