Skied the lower angle slopes below the Ivory Slabs this morning and bailed about noon. Snowpack was beginning to warm and become more dense on the eastern slopes and any roller facing south.
there wasn't much skier activity by the time we were leaving except for skiers hitting shots off the ridges (cardiac and high ivory I believe) with no signs of slide activity outside of what seemed like mid storm sloughing below the slabs.
These past few days we haven't seen much natural activity anywhere which, after 20 years of being out there, I find it 'weird.' With yesterday's warming, this weeks snowfall and the PWL, the draw of our famous Utah powder on a bluebird day has me up at 3am of what could happen on Saturday. I don't know who coined the term 'Scary Moderate' but I think we have that forecasted for us as well as 'Scary Considerable'
I would heed extra caution heading out into the bc, paying attention to rapid warming and pockets on the north side of the compass that Havent pulled. The potentially to go deep and large, in my opinion, looms over us.
