Comments
We found variable snow conditions with aspect playing a large role in quality of skiing. South slopes were icy with a supportable crust. North slopes were dust on crust and skied pretty well. East aspects were quite punchy in areas where the crust was not as supportable.
We saw some slopes with significant wind scouring (primarily south and west). In some areas, all the new snow had been transferred from the hillside. Fortunately, we did not run into any significant wind slab depositions in the areas we skied today.
Clouds and flurries moved in half-way through our tour and for the last hour we had fairly consistent moderate snowfall with about 1-1.5 inches accumulating by the time we left.
We did not experience any collapsing or cracking during our tour today.
