Snow Characteristics Comments
A gamut of snow surface conditions, but considering the lack of recent storms, the pack is deep and stable. Kinda like adopting a glass half full kind of mantra. And given the current Green Light avy danger... we figured it was time to start racing the monster trucks up and down the mountain

Avalanche Problem #1
Problem
Persistent Weak Layer
Problem #1 Comments
There's a lot of weak NSF developing in mid elevation E-N-NE aspects, especially on wind and sun sheltered slopes and that'll be our next week layer. Just waiting for the slab
Comments
Got some eyes on the last of the big January slides while we were in the hood. The pocket below the cliffs was triggered by cornice fall right after the ferocious Jan. 5-7th storm cycle that delivered big water and strong winds. Running well into the flats where I captured this image, it's a meaty piece of snow (plant based of course :), explaining why it had so much punch behind it.
