Comments
Snow was soft and fun on northern aspects. Eastern aspects in low elevation or protected areas were soft, but above ~7400' winds had created a zipper crust which was a bit difficult to manage. The crust was thin, less than .5 inches and quite variable. Southern aspects above 7400' were variable, with wind loaded stiff crusts in some areas and soft snow verging on corn in others. Didn't see any indication of snow instability.
Bottom line, there's fun skiing to be had at low elevations or high elevation northern aspects, but there's a lot of variable crusts out there to keep you on your toes.
