Comments
Tuesday's snow has settled to about 3" and has greatly improved riding conditions. This low density snow sits atop the fragile rime crust on W through N to NE aspects and a much more stout sun crust on the south half of the compass. Over the last five days, the snow above and below the rime crust has developed into small grain facets. This same change is likely to happen to the low density snow at the surface over the next five days before we get significant new snow. Look to these layers as our next problem avalanche layers.
The Uintas were sharply in focus today.
