Snow Characteristics Comments
The 1" of new snow from last night's sleeper storm was appreciated. In wind sheltered areas the upper 6" skis great. In most other slopes between 7000' and 7500' there is a stout lingering crust just below this soft snow. The new snow interface is a mixture of decomposing fragments and buried surface hoar. Though not particularly reactive or consequential, added loading could create problems in the future. Ridge lines are plagued with wind related problems.
