Weather Comments
The day began under cold and clear skies and while the sun warmed our bodies, it did not do much to warm south-facing slopes. Temps dropped just after 12 Noon as cold whispy clouds began rolling up lower BCC canyon, and eventually reaching upper BCC canyon by 1 PM. We counted about 1,000 snowflakes around 10,000 ft before our 3pm depature.

Snow Characteristics Comments
Snow surface conditions kept us all honest. The story has already been told, but the snow conditions could use a refresh in the cottonwoods. Wind board, ice crusts, and railroad tracks plagues much of terrain with left over railroad tracks peppered about to keep you on your toes. Most noteworthy were the faceted diamonds littered around the compass from 9,000-10,000ft. In several places we could observe the presence of surface hoar and surface facets wrapping from ridge to avalanche path. Fingers crossed we have some classic wasatch pre-frontals that knock over the surface hoar layers.
On the bright side, there isn't much snow available for transport our there right now...
